Simbu & Frangipani Festival …….. The month of September 2022.

Itinerary in brief

 The 15 nights /16 days itinerary focuses on two unique locations and is perfect for those with limited time who want a taste of the cultural variety in PNG.  The group will commence with a visit to Frangipani Festival and Cultural Festival, where tribes from islands and coasts come together to meet and compete in various cultural dances. 

We combine this with a visit to the Mainland of Papua New Guinea – Highlands Region. 100 plus cultural groups will come in with their different traditional dressing with dance. A concise itinerary taking you well off-the-beaten-track and seeing some of PNG’s most interesting tribes.

 

  • VISIT 2 FESTIVALS

    We are combining thevisit to two main events: The Frangipani Festival more focused on Island Tribes and the Simbu Festival which will show us the mountain hill tribes of PNG

  • JOIN PRO PHOTOGRAPHERS

    This trip many professional photographer will join, learn from the best and experience top level phtography of the PNG Tribes

  • LOCAL HOMESTAY

    As much as we can we will stay close to the events and people in our accommodation choices, this will give us a much more opportunity to create amazing photographs when we can stay during evenenings and early mornings. Some city Hotels will be inserted for battery recharge eTC

Expedition Day 1:
Depart International flight location (Australia or Singapore etc…) on Air Niugini flight to PORT MORESBY. Met and transfer to Wellness Lodge. o/n (bld)

Expedition Day 2:
Transfer: Port Moresby to Goroka. Half day tour for cultural and village lifetour. Meet your guide at Goroka airport and transfer to Pacific Garden Hotel. o/n (bld)e

Expedition Day 3:

Full Day Tour – Tour to Famous Asaro Mudmen and Mokomoko dance. Overnight at  Pacific Garden Hotel. o/n  (bld)

Expedition Day 4:

Transfer – Goroka to Simbu. – 2 hrs by car. Mountain Hut Hotel hotel – o/n

Expedition Day 5 :

Full Day – Show ground.  After breakfast depart hotel for festival area. Hotel – 0/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 6 :

Full Day – Show ground. After breakfast depart hotel for festival area. Hotel – 0/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 7 :

Full Day – Show ground. After breakfast depart hotel for festival area. Hotel – 0/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 8 :

Full-Day Tour – Midima village.

After breakfast depart the hotel for Midima village for Cultural activities and village life tour include skeleton dance. Pack lunch will be provided. Afternoon Lunch you will do a Village life study.

Overnight at Jiwaka Mission Resort. o/n  (bld)

Expedition Day 9: 

Full-Day village Tour – Domil village

 After breakfast depart the hotel for Domil village for Cultural activities and village life tour include Traditional dance and activities. Local food will be provided for lunch. Afternoon Lunch you will continue to do a Village life study.

Overnight at Jiwaka Mission Resort. O/n (bd)

Expedition Day 10:

Transfer: Jiwaka to Mt Hagen

On the way to Mt. Hagen you will see the Coffee and Tea plantation. Check in at Kuri lodge and Continue to Kumdi village for 5 plus cultural activities. Package  lunch will be provided.  Kuri lodge. O/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 11:

Flight = HGN/POM/RAB

Meet your guide at Rabaul and transfer to Rabaul Hotel. o/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 12:

Full day – Show ground….  Rabaul Hotel. o/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 13:

Full day – Show ground….  Rabaul Hotel. o/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 14:

Full day – Tours includes Volcanoe sites & Hot spring, village life study, town tour and  Night fire dance etc… Rabaul Hotel. o/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 15:

Full day – Tours include war memory sites/caves, full demonstration of preparing lunch with local food, and more activities if we have time…… Rabaul Hotel. o/n (b/d)

Expedition Day 16:

Transfer to the airport for international flight for next location.
